CD Autism uses the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) to determine the progress of treatment. Some critics insisted this measurement of autism is not valid. We strongly disagree. We have just learned of a study that shows a strong correlation between ATEC and CARS.
The name of the study is:
A Comparison of the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC)
and the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS)
for the Quantitative Evaluation of Autism
A key statement in the study says:
“The results of this study showed a significant association between professionally derived CARS scores and parentally derived ATEC score…”
